Under the general direction of the Warehouse Manager, this position will work closely with warehouse personnel. Responsibilities include performing operational procedures for activities such as verifying of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling distribution of materials, keeping warehouse inventory current to include processing daily issues, and performing daily counts. Responsible for directing warehouse activities and supervising warehouse staff. Position is hands on shifting back and forth between a warehouse setting and an office environment. Maintains compliance with established policies, procedures, and completion of required daily reports.
Key Responsibilities: • Work closely with warehouse personnel and coordinate with other supervisors the receipt of inbound and the shipment of outbound product • Provide and encourage feedback to warehouse staff to objectively reach positive results • Ensure that material handling procedures are followed, so that product is stored efficiently and reliably with required identification • Schedule and adhere to proper inspection, maintenance/housekeeping of machines, equipment, and facility areas • Responsible for accurate records that identify and track product movement to help consistently meet scheduled delivery dates • Train and evaluate associates on proper methods for shipping and receiving products • Maintain open radio communication with Leadership • Maintain daily reports and expedite hot items as necessary • Ensures all duties are processed in a safe and efficient manner • Must be able to work overtime as required • Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Training: • High school graduate or GED with some relevant college education. Associates Degree in business/comparable experience preferred Experience: • 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferably in a high-volume distribution center • Excellent collaborative communication skills both verbal and written • Adaptable to changing priorities and multitasking various assignments to drive performance • Familiar with operating a compute and proficient in Microsoft Suite • Ability to work with minimal supervision and to provide good customer service • Possess excellent leadership skills • Forklift experience is a plus • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar PC programs • Working knowledge of JD Edwards One World is a plus • Quality Assurance experience is a plus Physical Requirements: • Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, balancing, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, seeing
