Overview

Purpose of the Job:

  • Provide leadership, development and supervision to employees performing functions related to the Maintenance Department
  • Manage department to ensure compliance with Operational Excellence Plan and OSHA requirements

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions): This self-motivated individual will provide support for, but not limited to, the following areas:

 

  • Work with Manager to ensure that performance is in compliance with the Operational Excellence Plan for the Maintenance Department
  • Assist with New Technology and New Equipment implementation as needed to support the growth and development of the Maintenance Department and organization
  • Drive and monitor PM programs to ensure successful completion and proper execution
  • Work closely with the Supervisors, Managers, and the Engineering team to accomplish key Operational goals
  • Track and drive department KPI’s to meet plant expectations
  • Assist with the new hire training of associates on fundamentals of the maintenance operation
  • Evaluate technician performance within the department and provide technical training to further develop resources
  • Oversee parts room process and personnel
  • Cross train employees to build skill development and Operational Excellence
  • Be a servant leader in order to enforce positive teamwork with associates
  • Manage projects with understandable and executable time lines
  • Drive organizational culture and change

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

Required:

  • 5+ years of implementing and/or trouble shooting equipment and tooling utilizing engineering skills
  • Proven ability to develop solutions while meeting established goals and solutions including budgetary requirements

Preferred:

  • 4 year college degree preferred, BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Directly related industry experience 
  • Experience with continuous improvement

Computer Skills:

  • Intermediate level experience with MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

Key Competencies:

  • Strong working knowledge of a wide variety of equipment including; Amada, Salvagnini, Trumph.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment with OEM suppliers over the phone and order repair parts as required
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, robotics & welding
  • Knowledge of Fabrication, Accurpress and Powder paint processes
  • Proven experience in Preventative Maintenance Program (PM Program), Capital Projects, Root cause analysis, 5S and Change Management initiatives
  • Must be able to follow and trouble shoot electrical schematics and familiar with reading general blueprints
  • Must be familiar with and able to operate and troubleshoot PC, CNC and PLC operated equipment. Participate when necessary in company required
  • Work as a TEAM in a Proactive and Constructive manner
  • Safety First mentality and approach
  • Expect and drive world class Safety, Quality, Culture and cleanliness with the maintenance team and plant

 

Special Physical Requirements

  • Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, far and near activity, depth perception, visual accommodation
  • Able to lift up 50lbs
  • Inside conditions, noise, and hazards

 

Salary Range

 

$78,000 - $107,250

 

The pay range listed is for Illinois based roles.  It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range.  Specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skill sets, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, training, and location.
