Overview

The Director of Distribution will oversee a multi-site distribution network that includes 2 sites in Socorro, Texas. Future responsibility of additional distribution sites could be possible as we evaluate M&A opportunities. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective distribution of all products (Werner, Knaack, Weather Guard), with the goal of providing the desired service level to our customers while achieving the optimum cost structure. This position owns the Distribution Centers’ budgeting process and project management to support the strategic goals of the ProDriven Global Brands supply chain network.


The ideal candidate must have a strong background in distribution, excellent leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to drive continuous improvement. Communication and teamwork skills are also very important within this role as this person will interact with various personnel in multiple departments. They also need to be able to present their conclusions effectively, so relationship building, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):

    • Develops and manages the distribution budget with finance partners
  • Strategic Planning
    • Develop strategies to reduce Distribution spend as a % of sales
    • Develop and implement distribution strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of distribution managers, supervisors, and staff across all distribution locations
    • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
    • Develop and implement leadership training to build bench strength within each DC
  • Process Improvement
    • Partner with OPEX leader to identify opportunities for process optimization and implement best practices across all sites
    • Utilize data and analytics (BI reporting) to drive operational efficiency and cost reduction
  • Vendor and Partner relations
    • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with landlords, vendors, and other external partners.
    • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions in partnership with Procurement and Legal
  • Performance Monitoring
    • Track key performance indicators (KPI’s) and prepare regular reports for senior management
    • Implement corrective actions as necessary to address performance gaps
    • Monthly Ops Review presentation to Executive Leadership
  • Technology Integration
    • Leverage technology and automation to enhance distribution capabilities
    • Stay abreast technological advancements in logistics and supply chain management
    • Partner with IT to develop best in class technology advancements

 

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent years of experience. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience within Logistics and Distribution with multi-site level management of 100,000sqft+ facilities, with at least 5 years in leadership role at a director level.
  • Advanced skills on all Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Expected travel up to 10%
  • Experience with Labor Management, Advanced WMS
  • Ability to pull data from multiple data sources, including BI/COGNOS. JDE, and vendor portals.
  • Ability to analyze data and gain insight to drive productivity or process improvement
  • Experience with presenting operational strategies to executive leadership and stakeholder management
