Overview

The Continuous Improvement Coordinator supports the distribution center by identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements to drive operational efficiency, reduce waste, enhance safety, and improve overall performance. This role collaborates across departments to promote a culture of continuous improvement through Lean principles, data analysis, and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational performance metrics (e.g., labor productivity, throughput, accuracy) to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead or support Kaizen events, root cause analyses, and continuous improvement projects across warehouse functions (receiving, picking, packing, shipping, inventory control).
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and best practice documentation.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops and training on Lean tools and methodologies (5S, value stream mapping, standard work, etc.).
  • Partners with warehouse supervisors and associates to implement process changes that enhance workflow, ergonomics, safety, and quality.
  • Track, report, and present improvement project progress, benefits, and ROI to leadership.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives such as layout optimization, equipment utilization, and warehouse management system (WMS) enhancements.
  • Champion a continuous improvement mindset across all levels of the distribution center workforce.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environment, with exposure to continuous improvement roles.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies (certification a plus).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, data visualization, and reporting tools.
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills; able to influence without authority.
  • Experience using WMS and data systems to support operational improvement.
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)

 

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Office environment within a large distribution center.
  • Exposure to warehouse environment, including temperature variations, noise, and moving equipment.
  • May require occasional lifting of materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Use of Protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe boots, and reflective safety vests.
