Presently this position is in a hybrid status with a minimum of 1 day per month in the office for collaboration, teamwork, and business needs.  The status and minimum in-office requirements are subject to change based on evolving business needs.

Overview

The HR Technology & Optimization Analyst is an IT Applications role embedded within the enterprise IT organization and aligned to HR as a strategic business partner. This role owns the technical administration, configuration, optimization, and integration of UKG and related HR platforms, ensuring they operate reliably, securely, and in alignment with enterprise architecture standards.

Acting as the primary IT owner for HR technology, this role translates HR business needs into scalable system solutions, manages platform enhancements through disciplined backlog and release processes, and partners with HR, Payroll, and IT, and vendors to continuously improve employee and manager experiences through automation, analytics, and emerging technologies (including AI-enabled capabilities)

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

HR Technology Leadership  

  • Working under Moderate supervision,  
  • Lead the design, configuration, and enhancement of UKG to ensure systems align with business strategy and evolving workforce needs.  
  • Act as the primary innovation driver for HR technology, recommending new capabilities, automation, and AI-driven enhancements.  
  • Evaluate emerging HR tech trends and propose solutions that support scalability, efficiency, and improved employee experience. 
  • Own and manage the HR technology enhancement backlog, partnering with HR leadership to prioritize work based on business value, risk, and capacity. 
  • Plan and execute system enhancements through structured release cycles, ensuring predictable delivery and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Balance run‑the‑business support with project‑based initiatives, maintaining transparency into demand, work in progress, and upcoming releases. 

HRIS Administration & System Optimization 

  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement system improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and reliability.  
  • Support integrations and data feeds, troubleshoot integration errors 
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, HR processes, and best practices.  
  • Serve as the primary system administrator for UKG, overseeing configuration, security roles, workflows, data integrity, and integrations in alignment with enterprise IT standards. 
  • Support and monitor integrations and data feeds between UKG and downstream systems (e.g., payroll, finance, identity management, analytics), troubleshooting errors and partnering with IT teams as needed. 
  • Ensure HR technology solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and data governance policies. 

Process Improvement & Automation  

  • Collaborate with HR partners to translate business needs into practical system solutions.  
  • Design and deliver workforce analytics, dashboards, and operational reports that support decision‑making for HR and business leaders. 
  • Partner with IT analytics and data teams to ensure HR data is accurate, trusted, and consumable across enterprise reporting platforms. 
  • Help HR leaders move from transactional reporting to insight‑driven decision‑making using trends, metrics, and predictive indicators where appropriate.

Analytics & Reporting  

  • Develop advanced reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics using UKG and complementary reporting tools.  
  • Provide guidance to HR and business leaders on maximizing the use of analytics for decision-making.  

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration  

  • Partner with HR, IT, Finance, and vendor teams as the primary point of contact for HR technology initiatives.  
  • Facilitate system governance discussions to prioritize enhancements and ensure alignment with enterprise needs.  
  • Provide training, documentation, and support to end users, helping them adopt new functionality and optimize usage.  

Risk Management & Compliance 

  • Ensure full compliance with risk management standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.  
  • Maintain data governance, access controls, and audit readiness across UKG and connected systems.

Qualifications

Education, Licenses, and Certifications 

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, information systems or related field preferred or equivalent work experience required 

 

Years of Experience and Knowledge 

3 ~ 5 years of Direct HR Technology experience required, including hands-on ownership of an HRIS system in an enterprise workplace.  

 

Skills and Abilities 

HRIS Administration & System Optimization  

Serve as the primary system administrator for UKG, overseeing configuration, integrations, security roles, workflows, and data integrity.  

Manage upgrades, test new functionality, lead user acceptance testing (UAT), and coordinate with IT and vendors when needed.  

Troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement system improvements to enhance accuracy, speed, and reliability.  

Maintain documentation of system configurations, HR processes, and best practices.
