Overview

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on equipment, machinery, and facility systems. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company policies and regulations regarding workplace safety, quality standards, and productivity goals.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with equipment and systems in a timely manner.
  • Facility Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of the facility, including HVAC systems, plumbing, lighting, and general building upkeep. Address any issues promptly.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Complete work orders and ensure proper documentation for future reference.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and departments to address maintenance needs and support operational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and procedures. Propose and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Participate in training sessions and meetings to stay current on all operation techniques and safety guidelines.
  • Efficiently perform tasks and assignments as directed by leadership, assuring adherence to company standards and deadlines.

 

 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in maintenance or a similar role, with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, hearing protection, safety toe boots, reflective vests, and hard hats.
  • Maintenance Technicians work in a dynamic environment where they are exposed to a range of conditions, including both indoor and outdoor areas.
  • The shop floor may be noisy, dusty, and exposed to various temperature conditions.
  • Technicians must be able to stand for long periods and walk throughout the facility.
  • This role often requires bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing. In addition, physical strength and stamina to perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy equipment, and endure physically demanding conditions.
  • The job requires good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for handling tools, performing precise repairs, and assembling or disassembling components.
  • Dependent on product demand, production schedule and deadlines, employees may be required to work overtime including extended shifts and weekends.

 

Salary Range:

$22-$31 / hr
